Cloud 9 Restaurant first to Feature Breakfast Desserts
(Augusta, ME) Cloud 9 Restaurant at the Senator Inn & Spa has introduced a new breakfast menu. Debuting on Friday, February 3, the new Cloud 9 breakfast menu features new twists on traditional breakfast classics.
“Cloud 9 is all about delighting the senses through fun, creative food combinations,” says Betsy Cook, co-owner of the Senator Inn & Spa with her husband Vern Cook. “Over the past year since we introduced our new restaurant concept, Cloud 9, we have totally enhanced and modified our lunch and dinner menus, but until now our breakfast menu has been fairly static.”
New breakfast items include Tuscan Omelets with Prosciutto, Asparagus, Mozzarella, Asiago and Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheeses; Crab Cakes Benedict featuring a pair of our house specialty crab cakes, topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce served with home fries; Chocolate Chunk Pancakes with caramel sauce and whipped cream and Fresh Belgian Waffles served with real Maple Syrup with lemon cream and Maine blueberries; toasted walnuts, baked apples, caramel drizzle and whipped cream; or with strawberries and whipped cream.
“With the new menu, we also have done something truly unique in the market,” relates Vern Cook. “Cloud 9 is the first restaurant in Augusta to introduce breakfast desserts.” Featured Breakfast Desserts at Cloud 9 include Orange Ginger Pudding, a Warm Fruit Crisp, a Lemon Tart, Indian Pudding and Crème Caramel. “Breakfast is the best time of the day to eat carbs,” quips Vern. “You have the rest of the day to burn off the calories!”
The Cloud 9 breakfast menu also includes the Heart Healthy Omelet, Granola Continental, Hot Oatmeal, Oat Bran or Cream of Wheat. Restaurant patrons may also order custom breakfast combinations that meet their own dietary requirements. “The new menu is fun and fresh,” says Betsy. “We think have found a good balance between creative breakfast combinations and classic menu items that work for most every palette.”
Cloud 9 Restaurant is the featured restaurant at The Senator Inn & Spa, a full-service hotel located on Western Avenue, just off exit 109A from I-95 in Augusta. In addition to Cloud 9, the hotel property features a state-of-the-art spa and fitness facility, an indoor mineral pool and romantic spa suites with fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs for its guests.
